If you are looking for a dense hardy plant to fill a large space then you’re in the right place with Alocasia regal shield. Its dense bush of long stalks supporting its giant leaves resembles the ears of an elephant. Its leaves are blackish green in colour and each leaf stands on a long stalk like stem. They are perfect for gardens and open spaces.

Water: Allow 50% of the soil to dry out between waterings

Misting: Once a day if you have the time, otherwise once in a few days.
Pest: Spider mites seem to adore Alocasias. Mist the the underside of the leaves daily and weekly neem spray are good preventive rituals against the mites.
